I had one of those Gold faced Seiko's I bought at a jeweler in Southern California while in High School, 1971. I was in the military a year later and left it in the latrine for just a few minutes but when I returned some bruthuhs were walking out and the watch was gone.
ReplyDeleteI'd probably still have it if it hadn't been stolen, as I have always loved watches. It's a beauty, good purchase!

I currently own, and wear the same watch. I bought it new in Thailand in 1974, and have worn it since. It's been cleaned several times. It still keeps amazingly accurate time. I will wear this watch when I'm buried!
ReplyDeleteBought one with a blue face in Camp Eagle, Vietnam in '71. Was about $40 US at the time. Kind of beat, but it still runs!
ReplyDeleteDo you know if the blue inner bezel was original? I have one as well from jan 1976.
